All Karnataka Ex-Servicemen’s Association AGM and Felicitation Ceremony on July 27th

The 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the All Karnataka Ex-Servicemen’s Association for the year 2024-25, along with a felicitation ceremony for gallantry award winners, will be held on July 27 at Kaveri Kalyana Mantapa, Virajpet, starting at 10:30 am, announced Kottukattira P. Somanna, President of the Association, during a press conference in Madikeri.

Somanna stated that several distinguished ex-servicemen from Kodagu who have been recipients of national gallantry awards will be honoured at the event.  The awardees include:  Puttichanda Ganapathi (District Gallantry Awardee), Maj. J. Kuppanda Nanjappa (Vir Chakra), Chambanda Thimmanna (Shaurya Chakra), Lt.Gen. BNBM. Prasad (Sena Medal), Kuttanda Lava (Sena Medal), Mechanda Chittiappa (Sena Medal), Bollera Roshan (Sena Medal)

Additionally, meritorious children of ex-servicemen who have secured the highest marks in this year’s SSLC and PUC examinations will also be felicitated. A membership drive will be conducted during the event, and ex-servicemen are requested to attend the meeting with a passport-size photograph and a copy of their Sainik Board Identity Card, Somanna added.

Speaking on the occasion, S. Sudhir, Vice President of the Association, said that the AGM will also honour ex-servicemen who have contributed to public service, including: Paramesh Kumar, Executive Officer of Somwarpet and President of the PDO Association Mani, an ex-serviceman who has served the community with distinction.He further informed that State Bank of India (SBI) staff will participate in the meeting to address pension-related grievances and banking issues faced by ex-servicemen.

Association coordinators Natolanda Somaiah, Karthanda Chandana, P.S. Vasu, and Vijay Kumar were also present at the press conference. On the occasion, the Association strongly condemned the recent brutal attack on Bagu, the mother of a serving soldier, at Besagur near Ponnampet, expressing concern over the safety of soldiers’ families.
