Investiture Ceremony at Coorg Public School’s Junior Division Marks Malala Day
The Foundational and Preparatory School (Junior School) division of Coorg Public School and PU College (COPS) held its first Prefectorial Council Investiture Ceremony on July 12, 2025, in commemoration of Malala Day.
Lt. Kishor Kumar graced the occasion and conferred ranks upon the newly appointed Prefect Council Members, marking a proud moment for the young leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. M. Ramachandran highlighted the importance of nurturing leadership from an early age and made a special mention of the COPS theme for the academic year 2025-26:”Catch Them Young, Watch Them Grow.”
The ceremony celebrated not only the installation of student leaders but also the values of courage, education, and empowerment-echoing the spirit of Malala Yousafzai.
The event was witnessed by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi S and Mrs. Veda Bopanna, Vice Principals; Mrs. Sanchita Chengappa and Mrs. Swetha Ganapathi, Academic Coordinators; along with the teaching staff and students, who added grace and enthusiasm to the ceremony.
The event was not just a showcase of talent but also a reflection of the enduring legacy of chess in education. It provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, engage with peers from different schools, and experience the thrill of competitive chess.
