Shivasharan Hadapada Appanna Jayanti was celebrated at Gandhi Bhavan, organized by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Kannada and Culture Department.
K.A. Soumya, lecturer at Kannada Bharathi Pre-University College, Kushalnagar, addressed the gathering, highlighting Hadapada Appanna’s contribution to social reform in the 12th century. He noted that Appanna, a close associate of Basavanna, composed over 250 vachanas under the pseudonym Basavapriya Kudala Chennabasavanna.

Municipal Council President P. Kalavathi said the 12th-century social revolution led by Basavanna and other vachanakars was a collective effort toward equality. Â Â Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department Shekhar called for deeper understanding of HadapadaAppanna’s ideals, especially his role in promoting rationality and combating ignorance.
District President of Savita Samaj K.S. Doresh, Tahsildar Praveen Kumar, Deputy Project Coordinator M. Krishnappa, Assistant Directors of Kannada and Culture Kumar and Manajur Manjunath, and other officials participated.
