The students and staff of Coorg Public School and Pre-University came together to celebrate the National Reading Day, commemorating the death anniversary of PN Panicker, the father of the Library Movement in Kerala. The day was marked with enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to foster a love for reading among the students.
The celebration began with a special assembly conducted by students of grade X. The speaker emphasized the importance of reading, and a brief speech highlighting the life and contributions of PN Panicker.
Following this, the Principal of Coorg Public School and Pre -University, Dr M Ramachandran addressed the gathering, stressing the vital role of reading in developing critical thinking and imagination. In his speech, he encouraged students to devote their time to read beyond textbooks and shared how reading positively influence their academic growth.

A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the renovated library and reading room, equipped with a fresh collection of fiction, non-fiction and reference materials. The annex was inaugurated by the Principal, accompanied by the Vice Principals, Academic Co-ordinators along with the students of class IX and X.
The day served as a powerful reminder of the joys and benefits of reading, leaving the entire school community inspired and motivated.
