A new Forest Rights Cell has been established at the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) office, announced Project Coordinator S. Honnegowda. The initiative was inaugurated across the state by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, under the guidance of District Commissioner Venkat Raja.
The Forest Rights Cell operates under the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department, with a primary focus on ensuring the benefits of government schemes and digitization of data for families who have received forest rights. It will also review rejected applications and guide applicants for re examination.n received in the district, with 2,430 approved and 31,967.82 acres sanctioned for individual and small forest collections. The Cell will review the 1,847 rejected applications and work to provide necessary advice and support.
