Yashas Rai from Kodambur in Murnadu, Kodagu district, has been selected to represent Karnataka as a Special Youth Ambassador in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in Delhi.
Candidates aged between 15 and 28 were chosen from across the country, and this year, youth from Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts were selected to represent Karnataka. The selection was made from among registered members on the Nehru Yuva Kendra – Damai Bharat portal, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Yashas Rai, son of B. N. Lavakumar and Jayanti B. B., is currently pursuing his second year of engineering at KVG College in Sullia. His selection brings pride not only to his family but also to the youth of Kodagu district.
“It is a moment of great pride that a youth from Kodagu is participating in a national-level event graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Kodagu has actively contributed to various national events such as the National Youth Festival and Cultural Festival through the District Youth Union,” said P. P. Sukumar, President of the Kodagu District Youth Union.
