The newly constructed Rs. 7 crore municipal office building in Kushalnagar was officially inaugurated by Minister for Municipal Administration Rahim Khan. The project was funded by the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Administration. During his address, the Minister announced the release of Rs.50 crore for developmental works in the Madikeri Assembly constituency, with MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda’s efforts playing a significant role in securing funds.
The Minister noted that three new Indira Canteens have been added in the constituency to meet rising demand, with plans to serve meals to 300-500 people daily.
Dr. Mantar Gowda emphasized the building’s capacity and potential for Kushalnagar to attain full municipal status soon. He also proposed installing a statue of former CM R. Gundurao in recognition of his contributions to the town’s development.
Dignitaries present included DC Venkat Raja, Chairman Pramod Uthappa, Municipal Chairperson Jayalakshmi Chandru, and others. Cultural performances and a national song marked the occasion.
