Dear Sir,
Have you heard about India’s first YouTube village?
It’s called Tulsi, a small village in Chhattisgarh. With over 40 YouTube channels and 12-14 already monetized; Tulsi has turned into a viral content powerhouse.
It all started with Jay Verma, a school teacher with a passion for visual art, and his best friend Gyanendra, a former network engineer.
Back in 2014, the 2 friends picked up a camera and decided to experiment with video-making.
No money. No resources. Just pure determination.
Despite initial setbacks they launched ‘Being Chhattisgarhiya’, a channel focused on rural way of life.
By 2018, their channel ‘Being Chhattisgarhiya’ started gaining traction, showing the rural way of life to a global audience.
Then the impossible happened – the entire village joined in.
Now, in Tulsi, kids, senior citizens, even an 85-year-old grandma-act, direct, and create content.
Every home is a shooting location and the village itself is a giant open-air film studio.
Recognizing Tulsi’s potential, the Raipur district collector set up a high-tech film studio enabling the villagers to scale their creativity.
I firmly believe that the next phase of India’s talent powerhouse lies in rural areas.
Tulsi is just another example.
Our villages are a powerhouse with fresh unpolluted talent and opportunities. This is why I launched the most practical and professional Village Tourism Workshop. The next course I am working on is “Rural Entrepreneur Ideas”
The next wave of millionaires will come from our VILLAGES.
Why not have such an initiative in Kodagu. The local MLAs should be nudged to promote this idea.
