Dharmaja Uthappa has been re-elected President of the Kodagu District Congress Committee.
Senior Congress leaders Napanda Muthappa and K.M. Lokesh were also contenders for the post during the survey conducted by the party high command. Uthappa was subsequently chosen based on the majority opinion of party office-bearers and workers.
Uthappa took over as Kodagu District Congress President in 2023, following which Congress candidates won both Assembly constituencies in the district in the subsequent elections. His leadership and the party’s electoral performance are understood to have contributed to his reappointment.
Uthappa thanked the Congress high command, party office-bearers and workers for reposing their confidence in him.
Party leaders and workers, including the two other contenders, welcomed his re-election and expressed their willingness to work together to strengthen the party in the district.
