Preparatory meeting of Republic Day held

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja after presiding over a preparatory meeting of Republic Day celebrations in his office hall recently at Madikeri instructed the concerned officials to make necessary preparations for the Republic Day which will be held on January 26, 2025.

Republic Day, the national festival, should be celebrated responsibly. Like last time, DC instructed concerned engineers to construct a stage at General Thimayya district stadium with care and neatly.

DC informed to conduct cultural program in a proper manner and advised to allow new teams to participate.

The Deputy Commissioner suggested that the officials should hoist National flag at 8 am in their respective offices and must attend programme at the General Thimayya District Stadium at 8.45 am.

He also instructed that those who have received awards and distinguished achievements at the national and state level should be identified and informed to DC office before January 18. The DC directed the concerned departmental officials to provide laptop distribution and other information. Republic Day should be celebrated in a festive atmosphere and advised to make necessary preparations by inviting ex-servicemen to the programme.

Kodagu District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan informed that necessary preparations will be made for the parade on Republic Day and SP suggested that all necessary preparations should be made in connection with the Republic Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Damayanti, the district organiser of Scouts and Guides, said that first aid should be arranged for the demonstration which was being organized ahead of the Republic Day functions

Bharat Seva Dal’s Monti Ganesh informed that a lot of information will be given on behalf of Bharat Seva Dal regarding hoisting the National flag.
