Recently Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sathish Jarakiholi held a meeting to review the progress of the road and building works of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Kodagu district at Virajpet Taluk office and gathered information about various works.

In the meeting, MLA from Madikeri Constituency Dr. Mantar Gowda spoke and shed light on the Kodava Heritage Center, Kannada Suvarna Samuchchaya Bhavan and the barricade wall on Mangalore Road which are yet to be completed in the city,including the road. MLA also alleged that a bypass was to be constructed on the national highway on the outskirts of Madikeri town but it was not carried out and also the work was not done despite the Chief Minister’s directive to complete the barricade work by December 31st when Chief Minister visited Madikeri last, he said.

Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser and MLA from Virajpet Constituency A.S. Ponnanna explained about the road and various construction works.

Public Works Minister Sathish Jarakiholi, who received information from the MLAs and officials on the occasion informed that he will do the spot inspection of the Madikeri DC Office barricade wall. On the same occasion, MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda requested the minister to release Rs 250 crore for the development of roads and buildings in Kodagu district.

Guarantee Scheme District Implementation Committee president Dharmaja Uthappa, officers, engineers were present.
