Virajpet MLA and Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser A.S. Ponnanna recently held a meeting with Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa at Belagavi Vidhan Soudha and discussed the demands and infrastructure of the government’s union of aided schools and colleges in Kodagu district.
He said that now a minimum of 40 students are allotted for aided college training since Kodagu district is a hilly area and the number of 40 students should be reduced to 20 students. The salary of the lecturers should be paid without withholding. Kodagu and Malenadu districts should be given special consideration under the amendment of People Representative Act, he added.
In the schools and colleges of the state, a notification will be issued mentioning the Kodava caste as Kodava. The problems of Sandhipani Vidyapeeth School in the district should be resolved. Construction of government school in Mekeri village of Madikeri taluk and land should be allotted in the name of Panchayat. Infrastructure and funds should be allotted to Primary and high schools and pre university colleges.
On the occasion A. S. Ponnanna also appealed to the minister that the project of construction of Madikeri taluk Koyanadu Government Senior Primary School should be completed with special consideration.
Reacting to this Madhu Bangarappa assured that Kodagu district will be given special priority and appropriate action would be taken. On the occasion Senior officials of the department were also present.
