Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja chairing a virtual meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority at Madikeri recently has instructed the officials concerned to ensure the completion of repair works on rain damaged infrastructure within 90 days.
The DC said that during monsoon, heavy rains have damaged roads, bridges, houses and government buildings.
He further said that the administrative approval has already been granted for the action plan submitted through the Public Works and Panchayat Raj Department. 75% of the funds have been released to undertake works.
The repair works on roads in Srimangala in Ponnampet taluk, and Kedamallur village in Virajpet taluk should be carried out on a prioritybasis, he said. The chief minister had earlier visited these places. The works on repairing houses should be under taken as per the orders of the revenue minister. All works should be completed by the end of February, the DC said. He also directed tahsildars to inspect the work periodically and report to him. Public Works Department engineer Mutturaj was present.
