Complete construction of houses taken up in 2010-11…NV Prasad

Kodagu District in-charge Secretary NV Prasad during the progress review meeting chaired by him in Madikeri recently has directed the district administration to complete the construction of pending houses under the various housing schemes.

He said that 6,567 houses, the works of which commenced in 2010-11, are not yet complete and added that as the monsoon season is over, various development works, including housing, need to be completed. The report submitted by the officials of the various departments said that there was a target to construct 29,999 houses in the district. Sanctions have been obtained towards 22,098 houses and the works on 15,341 houses have been completed.

Zilla Panchayat deputy secretary Jeevan Kumar said that 12,633 out of 18,751 sanctioned houses have been completed under the Basava Housing Scheme, 1,799 out of the 2,252 sanctioned houses under the Ambedkar Housing Scheme and 116 out of the 123 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana since 2015-16.

Prasad directed officials to conduct a cleanliness survey from Talacauvery to Kushalnagar.
