We were all indeed very grieved to learn the sad news of the passing away of Ratan Tata who went to his eternal resting place in heaven above where the world’s great Architect rules and reigns forever.
In the passing away of Ratan Tata all those who had met him, read about him and whose lives he ?ad touched have said good bye with respect nostalgia and affection both to a man and to an era in the history of Tata Sons and other Tata Companies where he has left his indelible foot prints.
In his life he had followed the message contained in the words of the TATA CREST – HUMATA, HUKHTA and HVARASTA in the ancient Avesta language which means ‘ ‘Good thoughts’, ‘ Good words’ and ‘ Good deeds’ and had practiced in his life what Swami Vivekananda had said – “Every work is holy and devotion to duty is the highest form of worship”.
When the soul of Padma Vibhushan Ratan Tata knocked at the Pearly gates of heaven, it must have been welcomed by the angels thus:-
“Life’s work well done;
Life’s race well run,
Life’s Crown well won,
Everlasting peace well earned,Â
Enter noble soul “.
So was the passing of KarmajogiÂ
RATAN TATA,his God given task as an Industrialist and Philanthropist accomplished and the long day done, his wages taken and in his heart some late lark singing as he was gathered to the quiet west Sundown splendid and serene death- a state of merging of the JIVATMA with Paramatma.
This eulogy can be embellished with the following two quotations, one from the biography of Abraham Lincoln and another from John Ruskin which aptly applies to Padma Vibhushan Ratan Tata:-
“That man is the richest, who having perfected the functions of his own life to the utmost, has also the widest helpful influence both personal and by means of his possessions and wisdom over the lives of others”
“We call that man great to whom it is given so to impress
upon his fellow men by deed, by creation, by the inspiration from on high that has been breathed through his soul, that he is not permitted to die. Such a man
secures immortality in the world. The knowledge and influence of his life are extended throughout mankind and his memory gathers increasing fame from generation to generation. Such stand enshrined in the thought and in the hearts of his Countrymen.”
