Addressing preliminary meeting to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Venkat Raja in his office directed the officials of various departments to organise the Kannada Rajyotsava program in a meaningfully way.
During Dasara arrangements were made for vehicle parking at the General Thimayya District Stadium, Madikeri but due to heavy rains and vehicular movements during parking the stadium is in bad condition and hence DC instructed the Madikeri City Municipality (CMC) Commissioner and the Sports Department officer to fill it up with sand and keep it in good condition for Kannada Rajyotsava.
DC instructed concerned engineers to construct platform, little bit higher and to construct a pandal by installing suitable chairs for dignitaries, guests, media and others to sit.
DC also informed regarding cultural programmes that all schools should be given equal opportunitiesand suggested that songs related to Kannada Rajyotsava must be included.
DC instructed, the Deputy Director of School Education and Literacy Department and Field Education Officers to look at the pre-preparation and choose the right one and informed that cultural program should be organized according to the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.
Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja gave a clear instruction that the various subcommittees should hold frequent consultations at their respective levels and make necessary preparations before October 25 for reception, procession, stills, flag hoisting and stage, parade, cultural, refreshments, prizes, cleanliness and drinking water.
Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya said that everyone should work hard to organise the Kannada Rajyotsava program neatly like last year and added that Kannada atmosphere should be created on Rajyotsava day.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sundarraj said that necessary preparations will be made by the police department including march past and addedthat the police department will always cooperate with the district administration.
C.Rangadhamappa, Deputy Director of School Education and Literacy Department said that the students who scored the highest marks in SSLC examination in Kannada will be honoured on the occasion and informed that preparations will be made and finalised regarding the cultural program.
