Two youths named B C Pramod and Kaushik had a narrow escape in a wild elephant attack in Karekoppa village of Somwarpet taluk recently. It is reported that Pramod and his friend Kaushik were returning from Mysuru, when a tusker suddenly confronted their car on the road that passes through the Yadavanadau Reserve Forest, and attacked the vehicle. One of them ran into a coffee plantation. The elephant did not pursue him further due to the presence of a
solar-powered fence. Another escaped by jumping over the gate of a house. The car was completely damaged by the elephant.
