The Coorg Shandy – The Coorg Country Lifestyle Festival

Date:

Comments:

December witnesses the great migration of Coorg families from around the world, returning home on the occasion of Christmas and New Year’s Eve breaks or a rather hectic wedding calendar. This year around, block your calendars for a ‘country lifestyle festival’ that celebrates the Coorg way of life – “The Coorg Shandy”! The festival aims to create a community based on three main pillars – Coffee consciousness, Community Living, and Country lifestyle. The Coorg Shandy has a little bit of something for everyone. From Linen and home decor to Garden essentials for the ladies, Golfing equipment and rifle accessories to 4X4’s for the men. Little ones will surely be occupied with petting zoos, Birding walks, and more. Furthermore, you can expect delicacies from kitchens around Coorg. The festival will be taking place at “Swarnamala Wedding Hall” in Siddapur on the 28th and 29th of December ’24.

Shonalli Ponnappa, who is curating the festival says “This idea grew from spending ample time at farmers markets and country festivals in Wales, UK. The idea of building a community with like-minded people has festered for a while. We look at offering more soulful experiences that are deep-rooted in our childhood and our way of life.”

Be sure to wear your dancing boots and groove to the tunes of Country and Retro bands from Bangalore and Mysore. The country duo – Mr Philip and Bobby from Mysore have confirmed their participation at the festival.  Workshops on Specialty Coffee and Pottery are scheduled to take place at the festival.
