Preliminary meeting of Cauvery Thrirthodbhava held

After presiding over the preliminary meeting held recently at a hall near ‘Sri Bhagandeshwar Temple’, Bhagamandal Kodagu district in-charge minister N.S. Bosaraju has instructed to make all preparations for the holy Thirthodbhava to be held at Talacauveri on October 17th 2024

N.S. Bosaraju gave strict directions to officials to ensure that devotees should not face any trouble during the holy Thrirthodbhava at Talacauvery.

Speaking further, the Minister said that this time on October 17th at 7.40 am the holy Thrirthodbhava will take place and added that there is a possibility of a large number of devotees arriving from different places of on the 16th night itself, so the minister suggested to take necessary action regarding this.

He also said that, as the rain has reduced, road repair and maintenance should be carried out immediately. The bushes and branches on the road side should be cut down and requested theforest officials not to give any trouble while cutting branches of   trees that had fallen on road side.

S. Bosaraju directed that the officials of the police department to make necessary arrangements in connection with the holy Thrirthodbhava.

Minister also requested officials of Transport Department to provide necessary bus facilities during the Thrirthodbhavaand advised to run more buses according to demand. He directed Cauvery Irrigation Corporation, CHESCOM, District Health and Family Welfare Department, various departmental officials to make necessary preparations at their respective levels at the earliest.

Speaking on the occasion A.S.Ponnanna, MLA of Virajpet Assembly Constituency and Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser directed   officials that they should not cause any kind of trouble to the devotees during holy Thirthodbhava and to focus on developmental work in and around Bhagamandala and added that   Sri Talcauvery is unique in the life of the country and devotees should be provided minimum basic facilities to witness the holy Thirthodbhava. In this regard, various departmental officials were instructed to take suitable works in time.

Speaking further he said that the pot holes in Madikeri-Bhagamandala, Karike-Bhagamandala, Virajpet-Bhagamandala road junction should be filled.  All road which are connecting to Bhagamandala should be well maintained and directed to repair Bhagamandala-Talacauvery road at the earliest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja said that the PWD, forest and KSRTC officials should conduct a joint survey and take suitable action regarding the cutting down of branches on the road side trees.

Kodagu District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan said that every year   during Tula Sankramana holy Thirthodbhava there is a stampede so SP requested the devotees to cooperate with police to control this.

SP also said that this year the Thirthodbhava will take place in the morning hours and a large number of devotees are expected and therefore, Police will make necessary arrangementsand take suitable precaution for the safety of the devotees.

Speaking on the occasion KSRTC department officials informed that necessary bus facilities will be provided for devotees during Thirthodbhava as last year.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Bhaskar said that all kinds of cooperation will be provided by the forest department in connection with Thirthodbhava Jatra Mahotsav.

Speaking on the occasion, Sathish Kumar of Hosur said that in the newly constructed fly over water stagnant here and there and it should be repaired.  Replying to this EE Siddegowda of the Public Works Department informed that the tender has already been invited for the road maintenance and the work will be carried out immediately in another week.

Pulianda Jagdish speaking on the occasion said that if the MLA inspects the site while carrying out any work,  then he will get information about the speed and quality of the work and requested  that  MlA  should be checked frequently in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion M. B. Devaiah opined that if the Madikeri-Talacauvery Road if once made in cement concrete road it will be there forever.

Madikeri Municipal Commissioner Vijay said that necessary staff will be assigned by the Municipal Council and importance will be given for the cleanliness at Bhagamandala and Talacauvery

CESC EE Anita Bai said that care will be taken for supply of necessaryelectricity. She also informed that action will be taken immediately for installation of additional power transformer.

President of Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Akademi Ajjinikanda Mahesh Nachaiah said that saffron flowers should not be placed during the Thrirthodbhava and the holy water should not be polluted. He suggested that flowers and saffron should be reduced as much as possible.

MLA A.S. Ponnanna, who spoke at the end, informed that the religious practices and other issues should be discussed with the locals and the temple committee and have to take a suitable decision and this should be discussed with elders and care should be taken that decision should not cause pain to anyone.

ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narvade, Additional Deputy commissioner   R. Aishwarya, District Implementation Committee for Guarantee Schemes Chairman Dharmaja Uthappa, Heads of TakkaMotaiah, Balladka Appaji, Kalana Ravi and others were present on the occasion.
