Kodagu district BJP S C Morcha recently staged a protest in Madikeri demanding cancellation of Lok Sabha membership of Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.
Shouting slogans in front of Kodagu Deputy Commissioner’s office, the protesters expressed their displeasure against Rahul Gandhi and accused the Congress party of doing injustice to Scheduled Castes and Tribes.
Speaking on the occasion BJP’s SC Morcha district president PM Ravi said that Rahul Gandhi’s statement on the abolition of reservation in India during an interaction program held at an American university is condemnable. PM Ravi alleged that it is like warning the Scheduled Castes and Tribes by saying that the Congress government wants to abolish reservation if it comes to power in future.
MLC Suja Kushalappa, BJP District President Napanda Ravi Kalappa, General Secretary Mahesh Jaini, Spokesperson B K Arun Kumar, Vice President Manu Manjunath, Madikeritown President Umesh Subramani, Backward Classes Morcha District President Appu Ravindra, Mahila Morcha District President Anita Poovaiah and other prominent leaders and activists participated in the protest.
On the occasion, the protester submitted a petition to the Lok Sabha Speaker through the district administration demanding the cancellation of Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership.
