The health facilities of the outpatient department of the Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Madikeri were shifted from the old building of the hospital to the new building recently.
Madikeri Assembly Constituency MLA Dr Mantar Gowda, MLC Suja Kushalappa and others participated in the pooja program and initiated the relocation of the outpatient department.
General Medicine, Outpatient Department, Eye, Ear-Nose-Throat, Joint and Orthopedic, Mental Disease, Pulmonary and Dermatology Department werevisited and inspected by MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda and MLC Suja Kushalappa separately.
On the occasion Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda informed that 60crore was released by the government to complete the new hospital building.
Interacting with the ‘D’ grade employees, nurses, staff, doctors there, Mantar Gowda and Suja Kushalappa suggested that the name of Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences must come in every citizen of Kodagu for giving good service to the patients and advised to give moreimportance on cleanliness, and to treat patients as their family members.
Mantar Gowda opined that if everyone in KoIMS work as team then a good name will come to this hospital and areputation will come to all for their hard work, he said.
MLA Dr Mantar Gowda visited the scanning centre and enquired about the health of the patients being a doctor himself, Dr|. Mantar Gowda’s alsodid the health checkup of some the outpatients.
Speaking to the media on the occasion Dr. Mantar Gowda said that during recent visit of Minister of Medical Education, Dr Sharan Prakash Patila, to Kodagu district, he had directed to shift the OPD to a new building, according to that it was shifted to the new premises
MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda explained that the cardiology department will be started in the new building this year, space has been reserved in the new building and all kinds of preparations have been made to start
