Kodagu woman climbs Everest

Dr. Latha a 57-year-old woman who participated in the base camp and reached the target in the first phase by climbing 18514 feet at Mount Everest. Earlier she had an ambition of climbing Mount Everest so she taken 6 months training and guidance by a Nepal based company

She is a resident of Badubana village near Aluru Siddapur of Somwarpet taluk and daughter of late Malappa. Dr. Latha is presently serving as a doctor in Bangalore. Speaking on the occasion she said due to extreme cold many returned to the base camp and in their team out of 8 only three of them reached target
