A three-day festival dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali Devi “Bode Namme” was celebrated recently at Bilugunda village in Virajpet.

From May13, people who had taken vows before the Goddess, masqueraded themselves in weird costumes, went around the village and collected alms as per the tradition.

As per the customary practice, men wear costumes of women and mythological characters.

They play the band while singing in praise of the Goddess. On the concluding day, they pay obeisance to the Lord.

Takka heads of the Temple and the members of the management committee were present on the occasion. People from Bilugunda village and the people from the neighbouring villages gathered in large numbers
