Programs held to create awareness on voting

A street play and car rally were organized recently by the District Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Committee and Rotary District 3181 to create awareness on voting.

The events were inaugurated by Zilla Panchayat CEO Varnith Negi in front of Raja Seat in Madikeri.

Speaking on the occasion Negi said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) came out with the helpline 1950 to create awareness. Negi also explained the use of Cvigil app. “Voters should confirm their names in the electoral list. All should exercise their franchise in the Lok Sabha election, he added.

Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Navarde said that voting is the primary duty of every responsible citizen. All should vote without fail for their future, he added.

Mounesh Vishwakarma team staged a street play on the importance of voting.
