Coffee theft… Police arrest four persons

A complaint was made recently by Chidananda Y.A., a resident of Kaggodlu village under Madikeri Rural Police Station regarding theft of 350 kg of coffee by unknown persons out of about 2500 kg of green coffee which was kept for drying in the plantation.

Acting on the complaint the Kodagu Police after investigation have arrested four persons identified as Jaya.M C, (45),Sarath.HG, (31), Saju.P J, (44)all residents of Kaggodlu village and a trader Abdul Aziz, (49) of Noor Traders, Near G.T Circle, Madikeri for making purchases without any receipt/bill. The stolen 150 kg bags of coffee were seized. Kishore Kumar K M and Manu Rai of Kaggodlu village are absconding and Police are searching for the two.

A special investigation team was constituted under MaheshKumar.S, DySP, Madikeri subdivision, Umesh U.P, SI and Srinivasalu.V, PSI, Madikeri Rural Police Station and sub-divisional level crime investigation personnel to trace the accused. District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan appreciated the investigation team.
