Jamma Bane Land issue discussed

The first meeting of the Karnataka Land Revenue Second Amendment Bill Review Committee for the year 2025, pertaining to Kodagu district, was held in Vidhana Soudha Room No. 106 under the chairmanship of Revenue Minister Krishna Bhairegowda.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA A. S. Ponnanna, along with Legislative Assembly members Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, M T Krishnappa, Aravind Bellada, Dr. Srinivas N. T, and Bhimanna T Nayak.

Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda explained the provisions of the amendment bill in the meeting and sought clarifications from officials concerning Sadaka Bhadaka. Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA A. S. Ponnanna provided a comprehensive explanation regarding Jamma Bane land in Kodagu district and offered his perspective on the way forward.

In attendance were Regional Commissioner Aditya Amla Biswas, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department (via virtual means), senior officials from the Revenue Department, the Kodagu District Magistrate, Personnel and Administrative Reform Officers, and officers and staff of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
