After presiding over a progress review meeting at the Madikeri Deputy Commissioner’s office, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda confirmed that the e-office system has now been implemented across the Revenue Department up to the level of Village Administrative Officers (VAOs). He instructed that VAOs must respond promptly to public needs and be actively present in their jurisdictions. “VAOs have been provided workspaces in Gram Panchayat offices and must visit villages regularly to address citizens’ issues,” he stated.

The Minister noted that laptops have already been distributed to many VAOs, and the remaining will be issued shortly.”Significant efforts have been made to bring about improvements in the Revenue Department. Our goal is for these services to reach everyone at the grassroots level,” Byre Gowda said. He reviewed pending files and directed MLAs to discuss and dispose of them quickly, emphasizing that delays should not occur. During the inspection, the Minister observed unnecessary delays in the disposal of many files and warned that such inefficiency will not be tolerated in the future.

When MLA and Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna raised concerns about land title deeds, Jamabandi, and Pattedar issues in Kodagu, the Minister assured that necessary legal amendments would be brought in the next legislative session to resolve the problems swiftly. On the same occasion, MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda appealed for certain populated areas of the district to be converted into revenue villages.

Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee District President Dharmaja Uthappa, Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja, ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya, Tahsildars, and officials from both district and taluk levels were present.
