She stands lovely, a beast at rest,
Tires dirty, her frame mud-dressed.
No road ahead, just earth and will—
Yet beauty lingers, soft and still.
Leaves shiver under nature’s song,
Each drop a note, each gust prolongs
The tale of roots, of bark, of stone—
Of wilderness that breathes alone.
The windshield weeps, the wipers strain,
Inside, the silence drinks the rain.
Yet through the pane—a sudden flash:
A songbird waltzes in the splash.
No paved escape, no sky too clear—
Just thunder’s call and creatures near.
A primate watches from a limb,
Eyes primal, wild, and grim.
The hardship here is not defeat—
It’s just the pulse beneath your seat.
For those who roam where wild things lie,
The road is rough, but so is sky.
So let the rain fall thick and deep,
Let rivers rise, let engines sleep—
For in this storm, the heart beats free,
Cradled by earth, by rock, by tree.

Beautiful poem 🙏
Truly a captivating peice. Each line beautifully captures the fury and powerful essence of monsoon – the rains that cleanse the terrain and the roar of the swift flowing water that awakens something primal within us.
Dr. Bishan’s imagery is vivid and powerful, making us feel the pulse of the earth beneath our feet. Thank you for turning the collosal power of rain into such lyrical beauty.
The Poem is beautiful!
Dr. Bishan is truly
a multi talented gentleman.
The Doctor, who we are told, examined the injured foot of a very prominent politician, without fully realising who his patient was! Humility, Creativity, Dedication to his Profession and above all a Kodava!
Would love to visit the land full of Nature, Culture and Beauty!
Beautiful! An ode to the Maruti Gypsy ? Well done.
