Virajpet MLA and Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister, A.S. Ponnanna, conducted a task force meeting with departmental officers in Karugunda village, Madikeri Taluk.
The MLA received complaints about inconveniences caused by early rains, including prolonged power outages affecting rural areas.
Expressing concern over delays in restoring electricity, Ponnanna stated that many villagers have suffered blackouts for a week.
Electricity department officials explained that approximately 27 poles were damaged due to the rains and that equipment was kept in readiness for the coming monsoon. They added that a shortage of linemen has caused delays and that reinforcements are expected within a fortnight.
Ponnanna emphasized the urgency of restoring connections, citing how network outages caused by power failures disrupt online classes, digital courses, and government office work.
