Due to ongoing heavy rains – in the public interest, with immediate effect, the Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Venkat Raja has ordered that unauthorised entry, diving, adventure activities and swimming by the public and tourists in waterfalls, streams, rivers, streams, public lakes, dams and reservoirs throughout Kodagu district will be prohibited until further orders. Violation of this order is punishable under Section 51(b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and various sections of the relevant rules/regulations, the District Magistrate has informed.
