Quarterly KDP meeting of Virajpet assembly constituency held

A.S. Ponnanna, Virajpet assembly constituency MLA and Chief Minister’s legal advisor after presiding over the quarterly KDP meeting of various departments related to Virajpet assembly constituency till the end of March  which was held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Virajpet, directed the field education officer to fix a date for performing the ground breaking ceremony at the site already identified for the construction of a school building near Koyanadu.

At the beginning of the meeting, the MLAs related to Madikeri taluk under Virajpet assembly constituency received information that a school building near Koyanadu had been damaged due to a landslide. In this context, students were going to Sampaje School. Therefore, the locals there had requested that a school building be constructed nearby. Accordingly, the land has been identified and A.S. Ponnanna instructed to take necessary steps to start the construction of the school building immediately.

Speaking on the occasion,Field Education Officer Doddegowda informed the meeting that the land which has been identified by the district administration needs approval from the Forest Department.

Speaking on the occasion,  Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja informed that the land has been given by the Revenue Department for the construction of the school building.

MLA A.S. Ponnanna instructed the Field Education Officer to provide information on the condition of the school buildings, construction of perimeter walls, toilets, playgrounds, furniture required for the school and other things as the monsoon is  reaching  shortly.

MLA further said that we will work hard to release funds for various development works including roads, bridges, buildings related to the development of the district. However, it is not right for the officials to be indifferent without providing proper information

‘If attention is drawn to the work that needs to be done within the jurisdiction of their department, the government’s attention will be drawn. Emphasis can be given to the work that needs to be done in the district. It is not right to give information about other things, he said.

Z.P. CEO Anand Prakash Meena gave information regarding drinking water project Jaljeevan Mission, development of roads under Panchayat Raj Department and other matters.

Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narvade, Z.P. Deputy Secretary Abdul Nabi, T.P. EO Appanna, Shekhar, Tahsildars, district and taluk level officials were present.
