Let’s live by the Constitution …. N S Bosaraju, Kodagu District in-charge Minister

The spirit of living in accordance with the constitution is the need of the hour informed Kodagu district in-charge minister N S Bosaraju and added that only then the great values of the constitution like equality, liberty and fraternity will get real meaning. NS Bosaraju on behalf of the Kodagu district administration, gave a message after unfurling the national flag and receiving the honour in the 76th Republic Day celebrations organised at the Madikeri district General Thimayya District Stadium.

Speaking further the minister said that the memory of this day when the constitution and human rights were given as the foundation of democracy is unforgettable. First of all, it is the first duty of all of us to remember all the patriots who lost their lives for this noble cause.  Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, who inspired freedom, Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the constitution, who longed for true humanity, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ‘man of steel’ who united the divided unions and laid the foundation for the republican system, said that everyone who lit the lamp of freedom is an ideal for us.

The Minister informed that the Karnataka State Government has tried to provide economic empowerment of the poor by implementing five guarantee schemes, and priority is being given to the development and repair of rural roads in Kodagu district. A total of Rs. 439.93 lakhs have been distributed. He informed that pothole sealing works on 170 roads have been completed.

The Gram Panchayats have been sanctioned by the government to build a solid and liquid waste disposal plant under the Clean Bharat Mission. The construction of the Gobardhan unit has been identified at K. Ndungane of Madikeri Taluk and the work is in progress,minister informed

Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, Kodagu District Deputy Commissioner (DC)Dr Venkat Raja, District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan, ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Probationary IPS Officer Benaka Prasad, Additional District Commissioner R. Aishwarya, Additional Superintendent of Police Sunder Raj and other officials were present on the occasion

School children enacted the stories of soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for the nation, and also freedom struggle scenes attracted the audience which were the high light of Republic Day celebration in Madikeri.

The human pyramids created by the students of St. Joseph’s Kannada Medium School, Madikeri, Tribal dances performed by the students of the Girijan Ashram School, Nittur, Dollu Kunitha by the students of Kudige Sainik School,  Jallianwala Bagh massacre,  story of Mangal Pandey and the bravery of Udham Singh were displayed  by Students of PM Shri Government Model Primary School Madikeri, mesmerised the audience.
