Senior BJP leaders K G Bopaiah (KGB) and MP Appachu Ranjan recently demanded that the chief minister Siddaramaiah should resign from his post to allow a free and fair investigation into the site allotment case.

Appachu Ranjan said that earlier Siddaramaiah had demanded that BS Yediyurappa must resign and reassume office once he was proven innocent, when an investigation was initiated against the latter. Does the same rule apply to Siddaramaiah, now, he questioned and added that if he fails to tender the resignation, then he should hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Speaking on the occasion BJP district president RaviKalappa said the administrative machinery in the state had completely deteriorated. The chief minister himself is entangled in the scandal and lacks the moral authority to govern. He should have resigned when the Governor sanctioned orders to prosecute him.

Senior BJP leader K G Bopaiah (KGB) said that the state government has withdrawn its consent to the CBI to conduct inquiries in the state because there is a case against Siddaramaiah. Such a measure is truly anti-constitutional.

He demanded that the investigation be immediately handed over to the CBI.
