Illegal manufacture of firearms …accused maker and buyers arrested

Kodagu police have arrested an accused who was manufacturing and selling illegal guns at in a house in Sannapulikotu village under Bhagamandala police station limits of Madikeri taluk.  Three buyers who were there to buy guns were also arrested.

The arrested accused is Suresh (52), a native of Idukki district, Kerala, who lived in a rented house in Sannapulikotu village. When the police raided hishouse, materials used to make illegal country gun, 02 country guns (SBBL) and 01 country madepistol were found whichwere seized by the police.

N J Shivaram (45) of Karike Chethukaya village, S. Ravi (35) of Magali village of Piriyapatnam and Koti (55) of Bhagamandala Doddapulikotu village, who purchased the illegally manufactured country made guns from Suresh were arrested and later were produced in the court.

The police informed that a total of 5 guns (SBBL) and 1 pistol were seized in the operation.

A special team of Madikeri Sub-Division DySP Mahesh Kumar, Madikeri Rural Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa, Bhagamandala town PSI Shobha Lamani and staff conducted the operation.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan expressed appreciation for the efficiency of the police officers and staff.
