Former MLA K G Bopaiah(KGB) addressing media persons in Madikeri recently alleged that the state government has issued certain circulars, which are not in the interest of the people of Kodagu.

He said that the circular on returning wildlife products is an anti-people move and the Congress leaders have brought a stay order from the court against the circular. KGB questioned why didn’t A S Ponnanna, Virajpet MLA and the legal advisor of the chief minister advise him to withdraw the circular.

KGB also said that the government is trying to convert ‘Devara Kaadu’ into reserve forest by constituting the Forest Management Committee.

Legislators should advise the government to refrain from taking such steps which will create problems for the people of Kodagu, he added.
