Planter Manjira Umesh Appanna from Biligeri village addressing the media persons recently has urged the authorities to ban the movement of heavy vehicles in rural areas.

He said that even though the Deputy Commissioner (DC) has issued an order in this regard, it has not been implemented and added thatheavy vehicles are still moving on rural roads.

He said ten-wheeler vehicles are responsible for ruining rural roads. The elected representatives too should take urgent action in this regard, he added.
