Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patila after visiting and inspecting the new building of Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences (KoIMS) has assured that Rs 55 crores will be released for further development of the 300-bed hospital of the KoIMS and for this he will made all efforts to obtain permission from the finance department. He also informed that in the hospital, mother and child care unit has been inaugurated and functioning well.Â
Minister went to the hospital and visited the emergency department, blood donation center, newly installed MRI scanning center and other departments and gathered information.
He said necessary action will be taken regarding the appointment of vacant posts of doctors, shortage of doctors in Madikeri District Hospital has been noticed and in which departments there is a shortage of doctors, posts will be filled as soon as possible, he promised.
After that, he visited the mother and child hospital and collected information. On this occasion, MLA of Madikeri Assembly Constituency Dr. Mantar Gowda, Deputy CommissionerDr Venkat Raja, Director of Medical Education Department Sujatha Rathore, ZPCEO Varnith Negi, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narvade, Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee District President Dharmaja Uthappa, KoIMS Director Vishal Kumar, District Surgeon Dr. Nanjundaiah, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Satish, Dr. Rupesh Gopal, Dr. Lokesh, heads of various departments were present.
