District level children’s festival held at Madikeri

District Level Children’s Festival” was recently organised by District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Karnataka Child Development Academy Dharwad and Department of Women’s Child Development at Kodagu District Child Welfare Institute, Madikeri. 

The program commenced with a prayer by the little children. After inaugurating   the program Nataraja, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department conveyed the message to the participants that participation in cultural activities along with school education will help the students in the all round development.

More than 100 children from different parts of the district participated in the Children’s Festival. A dance program was organized for children on the traditional culture of Kodagu district which was the highlight of the festival.

Speaking on the occasion Manjula, Field Resource Officer of the Department of Public Education informed about the right to live and good health of children, childhood care and development. She said that entertainment and cultural activities are important factors which will contribute to the overall development of children and wished all participants of the Children’s Festival.

Superintendent Vimala, Assistant Child Development Project Officer Savita and First Division Clerk Jayanthi and the Department staff Harish K N, Kavya P N, Nitin P B, Keshini, Shailaja, Krishnappa B and others were present. Pooja C.A. narrated the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
