Speaking at a programme during a launch of the Codava Makkada Coota’s 92nd book “Koitha Mutt” written by author Ammatanda Vindya Devaiah at the Pathrika Bhavan, Madikeri recently Bollajira B. Ayyappa, the founder president of Codava Makkada Coota, said that the development of literature requires the cooperation of donors and requested donors to come forward voluntarily to encourage writers.
He also said that there are many aspiring writers in Kodagu district who need to be encouraged by bringing out their books. This work is being done by Codava Makkada Coota and the organisation was happy to inform that it has done a satisfactory job so for by publishing 92 books in different languages including Kodava to the literature field and added that the hundredth book of the coota will be released on August 17th.
On the occasion social worker Bairettira Girija Ayyappa released the book “Koitha Mutt” a collection of poems by Ammatanda Vindhya Devaiah.
Ammatanda Vindya Devayya, the author of the Kodava book “Koitha Mutt” speaking on the occasion said that only when women are given equal opportunities, they will be able to be recognized in the mainstream of society and added that married women need cooperation from their husbands and family members to show their talents in one or the other way.
It is commendable that a total of 92 books including Kodava, Kannada, English and Hindi written by many writers of the district have been released under the leadership of Bollajira B. Ayyappa, the founder president of Codava Makkada Coota, who is engaged in continuous activities due to his interest in social concerns, welfare of Kodagu, culture and literary development.
Ammatanda Vindya Devaiah is the daughter of Kiriyamada Dutta and Rani of Hudikeri village. Vindya is married to Devayya and they have two children Prapthi Ponnamma and Mak Mandanna. Vindya Devaiah, has done MBA from a prestigious college in Mysore and was employed in Bangalore.
Presently she is working as a lecturer in Karnataka State Co-operative Management College, Madikeri. She has also acted in four Kodava movies and is giving programmes in Madikeri All India Radio.
Social workers Ammanda Kitti Belyappa, Kekada Yashoda Kaveriyappa and Neravanda Anita Charmanna were present.
