Bengaluru Tourist Killed in Wild Elephant Attack at Theralu

A tourist from Bengaluru, aged around 43, was killed in a wild elephant attack at Theralu village, near Brahmingiri Wildlife Sanctuary.

The deceased has been identified as Murali Krishna. He had arrived with his friends at the homestay as a tourist and was reportedly out with them for an evening walk on Saturday when the incident occurred.

It has been reported that a wild elephant, which was chasing a dog, suddenly encountered the group of tourists and charged at them. Krishna sustained serious injuries in the attack, and local residents attempted to shift him to a hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.

Forest Department officials visited the spot after receiving information about the incident and conducted an inspection. In view of the movement of wild elephants in the area, local residents and tourists have been advised to remain cautious.
