Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar addressing party workers in Madikeri said that “I performed Cauvery Puja in Bhagamandala and prayed for good rains, good crops, harmony and peace in the country”.
“Your prayers have come true. With the blessings of the gurus, elders, all of you and the party, I have also received the opportunity to become the Chief Minister of the State. Therefore, I thank all of you, including Madikeri MLA and my dear friend Dr. Mantar Gowda, for the grand welcome accorded to me in Madikeri today,” the CM told the workers. A.S. Ponnanna was also welcomed by followers, workers and leaders in Bhagamandala. Together, they have brought considerable strength to Kodagu and strengthened the Congress party.
Shivakumar said he was also committed to bringing a separate project for the district in the coming days in consultation with the elected representatives and as a representative of the people. Congress will return to power in the State in 2028 as well, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said, seeking the cooperation of party workers.
CM accompanied by MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, received a grand welcome from thousands of party workers at General Thimmaiah Circle in Madikeri, where a Dollu Kunitha performance was also held. Congress workers welcomed Shivakumar by garlanding him with a traditional beaded garland.
