Kodagu Vidyalaya Holds Student Council Oath-Taking Ceremony

Retired Lieutenant Colonel B.G.V. Kumar called upon students never to lose sight of the values of truth, righteousness and justice, and urged them to remain impartial under all circumstances.

He was speaking after administering the oath to the newly elected Student Council members during the Student Council Oath-Taking Ceremony for the academic year 2026-27, held at B.K. Subbaiah Hall of Kodagu Vidyalaya, Madikeri.

Lt. Col. Kumar administered the oath to the newly elected Student Council members and presented them with badges of authority. Referring to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, he spoke to the students about the rich history of Kodagu, its important places, and the significance of physical fitness and exercise. Congratulating the teachers for their dedicated efforts towards the growth of the institution, he also urged the newly elected student leaders to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and commitment.

The badges of authority were presented to High School Division School Leader Niranjan N., School Leader Lakshya Ponnakka, Co-School Leader Aditya K.M., Cultural Leader Shriya Kiran, Co-Cultural Leader Trupti T.N., Sports Leader Tejal, Co-Sports Leader Devruth T.B., Bapu Group Leaders Bhuvin and Mholish Appiah Kokkalera, Jhansi Group Leaders Shaurya Poonachha and Sumedha M.N., Kittur Group Leaders Aryan Singh and Aaradhya K.L., and Tagore Group Leaders Thanis N.G. and Sudiksha K.

Badges of authority were also presented to Primary Section School Leader Manish Rai, School Leader Amrutha Neelamma, Cultural Leader Monisha, Sports Leader Kevin Cariappa C.S., Bapu Group Leader Anya Nanjappa, Jhansi Group Leader Krish Ayyappa K.K., Kittur Group Leader Saanvika M.G., and Tagore Group Leader Manvik B.S.

On the occasion, School Leader Lakshya Ponnakka administered the National Book Reading Day pledge.

Administrative Committee Member Gurudutt C.S., former Administrative Committee Member Premnath, Principal Sumitra K.S., Administrative Head Ravi P., teachers, parents and students were present.

Aditya Ayyappa compered the programme, Namrita welcomed the gathering, Khushi introduced the chief guest, and Gurupreet proposed the vote of thanks.
