A man died after a jeep fell into a gorge within the limits of the Virajpet Rural Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Balakrishnan (50), a resident of Kannur, in Kerala.
According to reports, the accident occurred on Monday night while Balakrishnan was travelling from Virajpet towards Kannur. The jeep reportedly went out of control and plunged into a gorge.
Balakrishnan sustained serious injuries in the accident and died on the spot.
His body was later found in a gorge nearly five kilometres away from the Perambadi check-post.
The Virajpet Rural Police Station has registered a case and further investigation is underway.
