Taking seriously the incident of assault on an American woman at a private homestay in the Kutta area of Kodagu district, Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, and Kodagu District In-charge Minister N.S. Bhosaraju has instructed officials to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a report at the earliest.
As soon as the incident came to light, the Minister spoke to the Kodagu District Superintendent of Police over the phone and obtained details of the case. An FIR has already been registered, and the investigation is ongoing, with two accused having been arrested.
“Kodagu district is world-renowned for tourism. Such unpleasant incidents will have a serious negative impact on the district’s prestige and tourism.
Therefore, an impartial investigation should be conducted and strict action taken against the guilty,” he said.
