CNC Holds Peaceful Satyagraha in Madikeri, Submits 10-Point Memorandum

The Codava National Council (CNC) staged a peaceful satyagraha in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, pressing for the fulfillment of 10 key demands related to the rights and recognition of the indigenous Kodava community.

CNC President N.U. Nachappa led the protest and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President, Prime Minister, and Union Home Minister through the district administration.

The demands include constitutional safeguards, cultural recognition, inclusion of Kodava language in the Eighth Schedule, protection of heritage sites, and political representation.

Several members of the CNC participated in the demonstration.
