The Round Table India movement achieved another milestone with the formal inauguration of the Kodagu Round Table at Ambatty Greens, Bittangala, marking the establishment of a new chapter in the district. The event brought together dignitaries, professionals, and members from across neighbouring chapters in celebration of service, fellowship, and leadership.
Dr. Sunil Muddaiah, Dean of the Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Amrut Nanaiah, Director of Lopamudra Hospital, Gonikoppal, and Dr. Mathanda Aiyappa, Director of Aishwarya Hospital, Virajpet, attended as Guests of Honour.
The new Kodagu chapter was sponsored by the Chikmagalur Round Table, Mysore Elite Round Table, and Wayanad Round Table, whose members and dignitaries participated in the inauguration ceremony.
A total of 16 new tablers were formally inducted into the chapter. Theethamada Ashik Bopanna was unanimously elected as Chairman, Mukkatira Dany Kaveriappa as Vice Chairman, Malchira Kanma Kalaiah as Treasurer, and Machimada Machaiah as Secretary.
The other inducted members include Kembadathanda Dr. Gaurav Aiyappa, Maneyapanda Appachu, Kollira Mridul Aiyappa, Shashank Bheemaiah, Theetharamada Bopanna Prabhu, Machimanda Prasad Chengappa, Mukkaitra Utham Bopanna, Mandepanda Achal Achaiah, Kabbachira Ashank Kariappa, Thanachira Vivek Aiyappa, Alamanda Vikram Aiyappa, and Kadiamada Muddaiah.
The ceremony included a toast to the President of India, acceptance of the organization’s aims and objectives, and the presentation of ceremonial jewels to the office bearers. The event reflected the values central to Round Table India – camaraderie, leadership, and community development. Round Table India, a non-political and non-sectarian association of young men aged between 18 and 40, focuses on service and fellowship. It is affiliated with Round Table International, a worldwide movement founded in Norwich, England, in 1927. Having begun in India with Madras Round Table No. 1 in 1962, the organization today spans over 200 tables across more than 70 cities, bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders.
The association’s flagship initiative, Freedom Through Education, aims to provide educational infrastructure for underprivileged children. Over the years, Round Table India has built thousands of classrooms nationwide, benefitting millions of students and embodying its guiding motto – “Adopt, Adapt, Improve.”
