Kodagu District Congress president and District Guarantee Implementation Committee chairman Theethira Dharmaja Uthappa has called upon party workers to strengthen the Congress organisation in the district in a systematic and effective manner.
Speaking as the chief guest at a meeting of Congress workers of the Murnad block of the Madikeri Assembly constituency, he said the largest number of development works were being taken up after Congress MLAs assumed office. He claimed that there was public support for the Congress to return to power in the district and said strengthening the party organisation was essential in this regard.
Madikeri Block Congress president H.A. Hamsa said Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda had provided crores of rupees in funding for development works in the Murnad Gram Panchayat limits. He said a district-level Congress convention would be held in Murnad town in October. He also instructed the block Congress president to form guarantee implementation committees at the gram panchayat level.
District Congress spokesperson and War Room coordinator Tennira Myna provided information on the progress of the SIR. He said steps were being taken to ensure that every voter in the district did not lose their right to vote.
Madikeri Block Youth Congress president Kavan Kottoli provided information about the Bharat Jodo youth organisation.
On the occasion, Dharmaj Uthappa, who has continued as district Congress president for a second term following the AICC’s Srujana campaign, was felicitated by the block Congress unit.
The meeting was presided over by block Congress president Keshava. DCC member Mundanda Bhagesh, District Youth Congress president Jammada Somanna, Block Congress general secretary Rawoof Sheikh, block Congress vice-president Mohammed Ali, District Youth Congress office-bearers Itteera Bhavin, and others including Raghu Bhaira, Dhananjay, Shivakumar A.R., Bhagya, Radha, Shivu Badaga, Sadiq M.M., Sohel and Vasantha Pare, along with party workers and leaders, were present.
