The Kodagu District Congress Committee staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Madikeri, demanding the withdrawal of an FIR registered against Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
In the wake of the incident in Haldwani, Rahul Gandhi had reportedly demanded strict action against those responsible for violating constitutional values. However, Congress workers expressed their anger over the registration of an FIR against him by the Uttarakhand Police.

Alleging that the case against Rahul Gandhi was malicious and politically motivated, Congress leaders described it as an act of vendetta and demanded that the FIR be withdrawn immediately.A petition in this regard was submitted to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner, urging the President to take the necessary steps to ensure the withdrawal of the FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi.
The protest was led by Kodagu District Congress Committee President Dharmaja Uthappa. Among those present were Campaign Committee President T.P. Ramesh, former Member of the Legislative Council Shantayenda Veena Achaiah, MLC R.P. Chandrashekhar, Madikeri City Congress President Prakash Acharya, Social Media President Suraj Hosur, and party leaders and prominent members including Rubina, Minaj Praveen, Mohan V.G., Thennira Maina, Bhaiyanda Fancy Parvathi, Tatu Monnappa, K.G. Peter, Prabhu Rai, Dinesh K.R. and Shaukat Ali, along with leaders and activists from various blocks of the party.
