Female Elephant Found Dead Near Anandpura

A female elephant was found dead in a coffee plantation near Anandpur in Virajpet taluk.

The wild elephant is believed to have strayed into the plantation in search of food. The exact cause of its death is yet to be ascertained.

A young calf, believed to have lost its mother, was seen standing beside the carcass in distress, drawing the attention of local villagers.

Upon receiving information, Forest Department officials rushed to the spot and carried out the post-mortem examination before conducting the final rites of the animal. Officials said the exact cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem report is received.
