The Santvana Mahila Sahayavani, functioning under the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka, has been providing counselling, guidance and immediate assistance to women facing various forms of distress across Kodagu district since its inception.
The counselling centre was established on November 4, 2002, at the Kodagu District Child Welfare Institute, with the objective of extending timely support to women by addressing grievances and resolving issues through counselling and intervention.
Since its establishment, the Santvana Centre has registered 5,824 cases involving various issues affecting women. Of these, 5,792 cases have been successfully disposed of.
During the financial year 2026-27, the centre has registered 69 new cases, of which 51 cases have already been disposed of. The remaining 18 cases, along with pending cases carried forward from the previous financial year, are currently under process.
The Santvana Centre continues to provide counselling and assistance to women experiencing domestic disputes, family-related issues and other social problems, with the objective of ensuring timely intervention and support.
